Due to changing sea conditions the Water Ski Challenge will now happen on Friday 2nd September!

The skiers are hard at work with their last minute preparations.

Last Friday was their final session with the person they have loved to hate all these months – Voula at the Aztec Hotel Gym! She has bullied them, encouraged, cajoled and nursed them with chocolate and sympathy as well as a few honest words along the way. They are all looking and feeling fitter than they have for years – good work Voula – they love you really!

Their last venture on to water before the event will be at Cotswold Water Park near South Cerney, on Wednesday 31st August, when they have their last training session! Sam, Richard and Ben from the lake have been inspirational, not only to the team but a few family and friends are now budding water skiers as well (it seems to be infectious). Just to add a little more pressure, their last session will be recorded for BBC Points West on Wednesday Evening. There will also be an interview so please watch it if you can.

As I write this, Justin McInerney of Team Pulsar Racing, who is the lead Pilot and weather expert, is monitoring sea conditions. There is currently a high over the Irish Sea but it is deteriorating on Friday so they plan to go early!

May we take this opportunity to thank everyone who has sponsored the team so far, we are extremely grateful! If you haven’t yet done so but would like to, please see “Helping the Foundation” page where you will see the ways you can donate.
